Kia Window Sticker by VIN

Kia publishes original window stickers by VIN at prod.idc.kia.us, free. Enter the VIN below and the tool links you to the PDF. On October 4, 2026 we tested the service with 14 VINs, all taken from public used-car listings: 13 returned the full sticker (model years 2014 through 2026); the other returned a one-line "VIN not found" reply. Fourteen used Kia VINs from public listings: one for each model year from 2014 to 2026 (Optima, Sorento, Soul, Forte, Sportage, Seltos and K4) plus a 2012 Optima. All thirteen 2014 to 2026 VINs returned the full sticker: exterior and interior color, standard features, base MSRP, installed options, inland freight, total price, warranty block, EPA fuel economy panel and final assembly point. The 2012 Optima returned a one-line text reply, "VIN not found in Monroney", instead of a PDF. This is the service behind the "View Window Sticker" button on kia.com's inventory pages; the older kia.com/us/services/en/windowsticker/load/ address quoted on owner forums returned 404 for all eight VINs we tried on it.

How the Kia lookup works

The service lives at https://prod.idc.kia.us/sticker/find/followed by the 17-character VIN; it is the address behind the "View Window Sticker" button on kia.com's inventory pages. It answers HTTP 200either way: a PDF sticker when it holds the VIN, and a one-line text reply, "VIN not found in Monroney", when it does not. The tool above builds the address for you after decoding the VIN, so you also see the year, model and trim NHTSA has on file and can check the sticker against them.

What we tested, and what came back

  • Tested: 14 VINs, October 4, 2026.
  • Real stickers: 13 (model years 2014 through 2026).
  • No sticker returned: 1 (model years 2012).
  • Response: HTTP 200, application/pdf.

Reading a Kia sticker

Start with the total price and the option list: the difference between base price and total is what the first buyer paid for options, and it tells you which equipment on the car is factory and which was added later. Check the engine and transmission lines against the decode above and against the car. Then the warranty block: the sticker states the original coverage in years and miles, and the in-service date from the dealer or the manufacturer's owner portal tells you how much of it is left; see warranty by VIN.

What free sources can show

  • The original Kia Monroney label as a PDF, for VINs the service holds: MSRP, options with prices, standard equipment, colors, engine, transmission, EPA panel.
  • The free decode: year, make, model, trim, engine and plant, to check the sticker against the car.
  • The free CarWorthIt report: open recalls, crash-test ratings and running costs.

What they cannot

  • A sticker for every VIN: 1 of 14 test VINs returned "VIN not found in Monroney".
  • Stickers for the oldest Kias: a 2012 Optima returned "VIN not found in Monroney" (2014 was the oldest that worked).
  • History: the label is the new-car price sheet, not a title, lien or theft record.

Common questions

Is the Kia window sticker lookup free?

Yes. prod.idc.kia.us returns the original Monroney label as a PDF for any VIN it holds, with no account. We tested it on October 4, 2026 with 14 VINs and received a real sticker for 13 of them.

Which Kia model years does it cover?

Real stickers came back for 2014 through 2026, one VIN per model year, and a 2012 Optima returned "VIN not found in Monroney". We did not test a 2013, so 2014 is the oldest year we can vouch for.

What does the Kia sticker show?

The 2024 Sorento LX FWD sticker we retrieved lists the exterior and interior color, the port of entry, standard features by category (a 2.5L four-cylinder engine and an 8-speed automatic on that vehicle), a base price of $31,990, $225 of carpeted floor mats, $1,375 inland freight and handling, a total of $33,590, the warranty block (10 year/100,000 mile powertrain, 5 year/60,000 mile basic, 5 year/60,000 mile roadside assistance), the EPA fuel economy panel (26 mpg combined) and the final assembly point (West Point, Georgia). It also names the dealer the car was shipped to.

What if it comes back blank?

Then Kia's service does not hold that VIN, and no other free source has the label. The manufacturer's build record carries the same MSRP, options and equipment; a dealer can look it up, and the CarWorthIt Full Report ($6.99) reproduces it (MSRP, invoice, options, standard equipment, warranty terms) with a local-market valuation.

Does the sticker show the car's history?

No. It is the new-car price label. For title brands, liens, odometer and theft, use the title check, lien check, odometer check and stolen vehicle check pages, which route you to NICB VINCheck and NMVTIS providers. CarWorthIt does not sell vehicle history.

If the service has no sticker for your Kia

The CarWorthIt Full Report ($6.99) reproduces the manufacturer's build record for the exact VIN: MSRP when new, dealer invoice, installed options with prices, standard equipment by category, engine and transmission, and the original factory warranty terms where the record holds them, plus what the vehicle is worth at its mileage near you. It does not include paint color or the original EPA panel. See a sample report.
